The Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers Society has been selected to host the Crime Stoppers Provincial Training Conference from May 12 -14, 2011 at The Coast Capri Hotel.
The conference will see delegates from throughout BC and Western Canada attending the three day training sessions. Our theme will be “Our Youth taking a byte out of crime one community at a time”
The conference will focus on the impact of internet based crimes such as luring and cyber bullying on the young people in our communities.
Our children deserve to grow up without fear of having their safety compromised by those who utilize the internet and social media programs to commit criminal acts.
Crime Stoppers is recognized worldwide as an effective crime prevention program. Crime Stoppers is in partnership with members of the community, the media and the police. Together our goal is to break through the barriers of apathy, fear of reprisal and reluctance to get involved in order to make our communities a safe place to live.
